| REACHING THE GOAL |
Phase I - The initial construction project is close to completion; three classrooms are finished. A permanent house with 6 small apartments to provide for staff and visiting teachers is completed. The resources for initial construction and cost of land were raised from local funds. People have united together in the cause by giving generously. The vision is becoming reality. American donors include an inner-city ministry, two churches and several individuals.
Several things need to be done to complete Phase I. Immediate needs are: - Completion of the 2 additional rooms for Senior III and the Library ($10,000).
- Completion of the vocational center; outside walls need to be finished and there is need for a separate room where equipment can be locked.
- There is inside finishing work to be done on the Teachers’ house ($5,000).
- A water tank is needed to supply the school. Two or more are preferable. They would supply drinking needs for the school and also provide for construction needs of the builders. One water tank costs $1,800. Currently someone has to travel a great distance to fetch water.
Student Sponsorship - In addition to donating to building projects, KSVI offers opportunities for individuals to sponsor a student attending the school. For $300/year, the sponsorship covers the cost of tuition and school supplies.
